Partition magic IS probably the best.



There is another one that I have used that is almost exactly like partition magic but it's free... I can't remember what it's called though, look around.



FYI-- when you make the drive.. Take the space from the END of the drive, not the beginning. You should understand that when you go to do it. You'll see in the program how you can choose. You'll save yourself a lot of time. Also as long as your not always copying files from one partition to the other, you'll keep your drive performing better since the data would be organized better.



Also do a defrag before you start this just in case there is any data hanging out near the end of the drive.. It's no big deal, but 500gb is a lot of space, and if you are using a lot of space it WILL take a long time if it has to move that data somewhere else to make room for the new partition.
